Where to start?

I'm learning as I go here, but chose to push a few early parallel paths...  scope, design, and estimates for the critical high priority items, and fundraising. Fundraising?  Yes, if you can help, please do:  Fundraiser by Karen Delvecchio : Room 212 Remodel at Milwaukee Women's Center The high priority items are the ceiling, lighting, and floor. Ceiling and lighting first.   It's a suspended ceiling with old school 2 x 4 panels that are not in good shape.  We looked above the ceiling and found insulation in good shape, individually cut to panel size.  The frame is hung from the concrete roof. We considered removing the suspended ceiling altogether, but I worried about disrupting the heating/cooling profile of the room.  This is a second floor corner room, and what's above the current ceiling is literally the sloped concrete roof. In December, I got a phone call from a friend of mine that went something like this... "You've led projects before, want to do a project for my friend who leads a local charity?"  Sure!  After a few more phone calls, I grabbed one of my high energy creative friends and we went to visit an amazing place called Milwaukee Women's Center , which is a division of Community Advocates .   The Women's Center provides emergency shelter and supportive care to women and children who have survived domestic violence, and families with children who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of losing their home.  The shelter has 24 rooms, all in need of an uplifting remodel.  The request was to organize and lead a project to update one of the rooms, leaving behind a bright new space, as well as learnings and plans that can be passed on to the next volunteer team to redo another room, and so on.
